All done!
Ta da!
I finished my Splendid Sampler quilt top one year (to the day) that the first block was released. There were 100 blocks in the year long QAL along with some bonus blocks.
I did all 100 blocks, staying reasonably in sync with when they were released. My quilt top uses 99 blocks in a 9 x 11 layout. The quilt top currently measures 54 1/2 x 66 1/2''.
The final layout doesn't use 3 of the original blocks and include 2 blocks I added including my wonky Christmas tree on the bottom row. The fabric I used was a F8 bundle of a Christmas line so some blocks were modified along the way to be more Christmas themed.
Still thinking about borders but am leaning towards a thin red border and then the gold. (I've enough left of the gold for a 2 1/2 '' border.)
I'll be linking up my finish here.
This was also my February One Monthly Goal!

Splendid Sampler - 97 - 100 (THE END!!!)
Are you sewing along with the Splendid Sampler? So, so much fun! And now I am all done with the blocks!
I've created a Pinterest board of my blocks This will be a great way for me to see all of them together!
Here are my final set of blocks. (Click block name to be taken to the directions and the official linky party) -
First Purse (97) - This was a fun block to use up little scraps. I didn't add the buttons to make it into an official 'purse'.
Fleur de Lei (98) - Fun block.
Four Corner Spinwheel (99) - Enjoyed this one and very happy with final result.
Centred (100!) - Paper pieced this one and down to scraps of fabric.
There are a couple of blocks from the QAL that won't make the front of the quilt. Either they don't truly fit the Christmas theme of the fabric or I just don't like them. I made a substitute wonky tree to replace one and made a flying geese block (not pictured) as well.
Now all the blocks are done and it is assembly time! I'm going to something with sashing. Hope to share soon.
Happy Stitching!

Splendid Sampler blocks 93 - 96
Are you sewing along with the Splendid Sampler? So, so much fun!
I've created a Pinterest board of my blocks This will be a great way for me to see all of them together!
Here are my next set of blocks. (Click block name to be taken to the directions and the official linky party) -
Tiny Miracle (93) - I really like this paper pieced star. It was fun to assemble and looks cool!
Skyscrapers (94) - Skyscrapers didn't feel quite right for my Christmas quilt so I improvised a skyscraper like design. (Block still need to be trimmed.)
In The Sunshine (96) - I've added more stitching to decorate this block after I took the photo. Not sure I like it but that has more to do with the fabrics than anything else. I'm down to the last bits of the fat eighth pack I've been using for this quilt.
4 blocks to go - working on my layout right now!

Splendid Sampler - blocks 89 - 92
Are you sewing along with the Splendid Sampler? So, so much fun!
I've created a Pinterest board of my blocks This will be a great way for me to see all of them together!
Here are my next set of blocks. (Click block name to be taken to the directions and the official linky party) -
From Colorado to the Midwest (89) - For many of these patterns, I convert them into EQ7 and create a paper pieced pattern. It helps me practice my EQ7 skills and I'm building up a nice block inventory along with way! Since I'm making this quilt with a F8 bundle, I'm running out of fabrics. Some of what left has big prints which don't cut up well.
Juggling (90) - I like the sentiment behind this block as we all juggle parts of our lives each day. But I thought a block with ornaments was a better fit. I still need to add something else to this block.
Gran's Button Jar (91) - I did all the stitching on this one with my machine.
Double Bees (92) - This one looks a bit better in person, minus the extra pink thread.
There will be 100 blocks in total here in the QAL. By my calculations, # 100 will be out on February 12.

Splendid Sampler - blocks 85 - 88
Are you sewing along with the Splendid Sampler? So, so much fun! I'm all caught up to the QAL!
I've created a Pinterest board of my blocks This will be a great way for me to see all of them together!
Here are my next set of blocks. (Click block name to be taken to the directions and the official linky party) -
Flow (85) - A bit of a busy block but I suspect it will blend in just fine to the rest of the quilt.
Unity Star (86) - I love the mix of the red and gold fabrics!
Shining Star (87) - I did this one as a paper pieced block. A little wonky but pressing helped.
Love is the Answer (88) -

Splendid Sampler - blocks 81 - 84
Are you sewing along with the Splendid Sampler? So, so much fun!
I made these blocks awhile ago - finally blogging about them!
I've created a Pinterest board of my blocks This will be a great way for me to see all of them together!
Here are my next set of blocks. (Click block name to be taken to the directions and the official linky party) -
With Love From (81) - Fun and easy block. Love a bit of paper piecing.
Under the Apple Tree (82) - I made some modifications to this block. I won't deal with templates - too much opportunity for me to mess it up. I like how this one turned out.
Minnesota Maze (83) - Sometimes I'll convert blocks like this - small with many pieces - into paper pieced blocks. This one I just did au naturel. It came out just fine.
The Early Bird (84) - I did paper piece this block and simplified the colors a bit. So cute.

Splendid Sampler - blocks 77 through 80
Are you sewing along with the Splendid Sampler? So, so much fun!
I've created a Pinterest board of my blocks This will be a great way for me to see all of them together!
Here are my next set of blocks. (Click block name to be taken to the directions and the official linky party) -
Prism (77) - Always fun to have a block that becomes a sample of all the fabrics used in the quilt. This block has many of them.
Jersey (78) - Always love a good star block
Spool of Inspirational threads (79) - Quite the long block name for a 6'' block! More of the fabrics from the quilt appear in this block.
Heart string Star (80) - I really like this one. The string block effect for the HST was fun to do.

More Splendid Sampler blocks to share!

Here are my next set of blocks. (Click block name to be taken to the directions and the official linky party) -
+ Love (block 73) - Quick and easy assembly on this block
Button Basket (74) - I didn't bother to add the buttons to the basket handles. I love this green fabric with the pine cones.
Stitch Crazy (75) - I very much simplified the redwork on this block. I am thinking of turning this into my quilt label - writing the name of the quilt in the blank space I left. Putting the block aside in this state for now.
Little Things (76) - A lot of pieces in this blocks but a fun one to put together.
Happy Stitching!

Splendid Sampler - blocks 68 - 72

Here are my next set of blocks. (Click block name to be taken to the directions and the official linky party) -
Wild Roses (68) - This machine applique block assembled quickly, maybe because I still have threads to clip!
Full Circle (69) - I did hand applique on this one. It was fun. Perhaps I ought to embroider a hook and turn it into an ornament?
Bows (70) - Built my own paper piece pattern for this one because I thought it could be done with less pieces
First Stitch (71) - Should have been an easy block ... so how come I had to make that black block 3 times before I got it right?
Full Circle Star (72) - I like this one. There were supposed to be circles in the four corners blocks but I like it without.
Happy Stitching!

Splendid Sampler - Blocks 65 - 67

Here are my next set of blocks. (Click block name to be taken to the directions and the official linky party) -
Stripe and Flowers (65) - didn't use any stripe fabric but I like this block anyway!
Happy Thoughts (66) - I have thoughts about this block but it is a family blog.... bottom line, love the result but my seam ripper and I bonded a bit too much over it when I couldn't keep my fabric layout consistent.
Bobbin Chase (67) -
I'm entering the Splendid Sampler challenge since I've got all 67 of my blocks done.
Happy Stitching!
