My 5 favorite posts of 2015

2015 is fast coming to an end.   It is always fun to reflect back on a year of quilting so I was excited to join the Best of 2015 linky party today to share five of my favorite blog posts of 2015.

Come join the party over at  Cheryl's blog.

My number one favorite post - by far! - was the glamour shot post of my Farmer's Wife quilt.  Photo shoot done at a local park which offered really great background opportunities.

I manage to sneak in photos of my Farmer's Wife finish at any opportunity into my blog.  It is clearly a favorite for the year and I enjoyed the paper piecing challenge so much that I am doing it again!  You can read all about my journey here on this post.

For my next two - I am choosing finishes that made me happy throughout the creation process and every time I look at the finished wall quilt.

I smiled my way through creating my Peanut's Gang wall hanging quilt. Credit for these adorable paper pieced blocks goes to Alida from Tweety Loves Quilting.  Each of these blocks were so much fun to assemble.

Each summer, our family spends a week at the North Carolina Outer Banks.  I wanted to bring a bit of the beach home with us and made my very own sandcastle!  I had this quilt in my head for a long time.  This was one of the calmer photos from the photo shoot at the beach (another great location!)  The wind kicked up at one point and I had to run to chase after the quilt as it tumbled down the beach!

My next two favorite posts are at my Elm Street Quilts blog.  They are actually a series of posts that I did on my new blog.

First up, is my very first QAL for my Harvest wall hanging quilt.  It was so much fun to release clues on a weekly basis but my favorite post was the Harvest Parade where I got to share quilts inspired by my pattern.  So cool!  I hoping to do another QAL this spring.

Most recently, I had the fun with my Elm Street Quilts Bag It series which finished up a few weeks ago.  Tutorials and tips for five different types of bags and pouches, wonderful sponsors and a whole lot of handmade gifting out in blog land.  While the giveaway have ended, all the tutorials are there on the blog.  It was a great event and I will certainly do this again next year!  You can see the great bags created at this linky party post - again my favorite post of the series because it made me happy to see what others created.

I've got some really fun things planned for my Elm Street Quilts blog this year.  Check out my Elm Street Quilts Word16 announcement today - more great sponsors and some inspiration to setting yourself a resolution for 2016.  There will be a linky party so we can cheer each other on!  I hope you will join in the fun.

Thanks for visiting and all the best for 2016!

Happy Stitching!
