Blogger's Quilt Festival - Farmer's Wife 1920

Amy's Creative Side is once again sponsoring Blogger's Quilt Festival, an online quilt show.  I am very happy to enter my Farmer's Wife Quilt into the Large Quilt category

My regular readers are familiar with my quilt and my glamour shots.   I blogged about my entire process and made 2-3 blocks most weeks.   All 111 blocks were used - 110 on the front and 1 on the back for my label.

I paper pieced all of each of the blocks.  I set half of them on point.

One side ....

and the other.

The blocks are predominantly one color - either blue/aqua, red or gray except for the ones in the 4 corners that are a mix of red and blue/aqua with sometime some gray mixed in.

Here is the block I used for my quilt label, incorporating a piece of each of the fabrics used in the quilt!

I had so much fun making this first one that I am 12 blocks into the next one!  This time the 1930's version.

The quilt took me a year to complete from the first block to the attaching of the binding.  (I used a red solid.)

To see a close up of all the blocks, I created a series of mosaics that can be found on this post.

Thanks for visiting but before you go, make sure you go check out my Elm Street Quilts blog to learn more about the Bag It series and enter the giveaway.  You've got the opportunity to get your handmade holiday gifts done and maybe earn something for you at the same time!

Thank's Amy for another great festival!

Happy Stitching!

  2. I love your color choices, and your label block is just too much - I had to enlarge it just to be sure - we have the same name! Good luck in the festival (my entry is in the scrappy category).
