Progress, progress

I am very proud that I have been staying right on schedule with the weekly blocks from the Votes for Women  block of the week.  This one was called Girls' Joy and I had fun in the assembly process.

It is a 49 block program so we are fast approaching the 1/2 way mark.

Right now, once the block is assembled, I will press but then don't spend any energy squaring the block up.  Now that I have a lot of blocks to lay out and look at, I am going to start making decisions on settings for specific blocks.  My current vision is to set them on point or at least half on point.   The solid I used is a Bella color called Porcelain which turns out to be hard to get.  I've been stockpiling to make sure I have enough.  Time to break out the calculator and see how much I am actually going to need!

I've made a few more blocks for the scrappy trip around the world quilt. Perhaps I will call this one 'right turn' because once I had sewn and seam ripped, I am assembling the strips randomly.  (See my blog post here.)

I am putting the light color in a consistent position so there will be some order to the quilt when done.  I am using a jelly roll and did need to incorporate a light from a different Fig Tree line.  The quilt will finish at 48 by 48.  The colors of this fabric line are just beautiful.

Happy Stitching!
