Pat and Jane promise lots of opportunity to learn new techniques. Of course you don't need to do every block but my current plan is to do so.
And although this will move at a fast pace of two blocks per week (available on Sunday and Thursday), they are really encouraging this to be a low stress QAL. If you fall behind, no worries! Don't try and catch up, just rejoin at that point.
I decided to use a bundle of Christmas fabric I had in my stash - a Moda Sandy Gervais line called Pine Fresh (from 2014) line. It felt a bit strange to be using fabric with candy canes on it during February but I went with it!
Here are my blocks. (Click block name to be taken to the directions and the official linky party) -
Heart's Aflutter (block 1) - I did hand applique for the heart block - a first for me!
Wings (Block 2) - To help get a result with accurate piecing, I created a paper piece pattern in EQ7.
Lots of Love (Block 3) - Can't go wrong with hearts!
Happy Stitching!
They look beautiful. I have a ton of Christmas fabric that I inherited... this is what I should to with it. I keep trying to use it up; instead I feel like it just multiplies!
ReplyDeleteWe had a good heavy wet snow last night, not a lot but enough I can appreciate those candy canes :) Have fun with this one I may collect a few of the blocks if they strike me...
