Border progress

I set a goal to add borders to my Celtic Solstice quilt.

I added an inner border of white and then the next border of these tri-recs.

This work was done over a week ago.  What this photo doesn't show, however, was the wavy-ness of the border.  I was too lazy to do math (ugh!) so ended up with a border that was slightly too long.  While it all sewed together just fine, when I spread the quilt out on the floor it wouldn't lie flat.

Of course I figured this out when all four sides were sewn on!   Out game the seam ripper and I reapplied the borders with much better focus on measuring, math and lining things up properly!

Now, I want to go with a final outer border.   Can I get your opinion?

Should I go with a narrow white border?

Or should I go with a wider aqua print border?

It sure is hard to get a good indoor photo and boy does this quilt need pressing!

Another alternative is to just call it done.

What do you think?
Happy Stitching!

  1. Oh I love the white, but then maybe the white then the aqua would be pretty too. Love your quilt!

  3. I know this is not one of your options listed, but I think another narrow white border and then the aqua print would be great!

  4. I like the white and then end with the green binding with pops of the red or orange in the binding, too. It's a beautiful quilt.

  5. This is a great quilt... good on you for sticking with it and finishing up, even if it meant ripping out and resewing.

Too many border options, all good. As is works for me but if you are wanting to add the aqua print border, I'd do another white border first.

    Have fun deciding!

  6. Hi, like Aunt TC said, I'd bring in the orange and/or the green (or at least use one of those for the binding); Good luck!
