  1. Hi. I've followed your blog for awhile.
Done some Free Motion Quilting. Not an expert. I usually quilt with my domestic sewing machine's walking foot. Random parallel lines, wavy lines, thatch patterns, sometimes I quilt in the ditch, etc.

    ReplyDelete
  2. I'm a total beginner! I've done some quilt tops and some "stitching in the ditch" but I just got a new machine and really, REALLY want to step up! Thanks for the chance at this awesome prize!

  12. My FMQ skills leave a little to be desired. I haven't got the skill yet for even stitches especially going around corners or loops! Practice makes perfect though right???

    ReplyDelete
  13. My fmq skills are definitely beginner! I've only practiced once and it looked horrible!

    ReplyDelete

  18. I'd say my FMQ skills are intermediate. Still learning!

    ReplyDelete
  19. I'm a fairly new FMQ, doing mostly small wall hangings so that I can control my fabric better. I'd love to try those Pinmoors. I have severe arthritis and getting safety pins clasped and unclasped is really hard for me. Thanks for the giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  20. I've been following for a while.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I'm a really bad FMQ. I keep forgetting that you need to (1)move the fabric and (2)breathe! I do well in a class setting, but forget it all when I get home.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I`ve never tried FQM,hope to do it but till then I hanquilting.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I do follow.Thanks for the giveaway!!

    ReplyDelete
  24. I'm not a very good at FMQ. I'm usually just a liner, x'er and ditcher! Would love to learn.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Expert. I would have never said that about anything, but one of my quilts won an all show ribbon for best machine quilting on a domestic last October locally. Wasn't even my best work, just what I had on hand.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I'm a follower. I'd love to give pinmoors a try.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I'm just a little past beginner but I use a quilting machine not my domestic - so does that count

    ReplyDelete
  28. I am not new to FMQ, but nowhere near expert. I keep plugging away trying to improve. Pinmoors look very interesting to me.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I am of course a follower and have looked at this product before, I have only used big safety pins in the past...this looks easier on the fingers...

    ReplyDelete
  30. I'd say I'm an intermediate FMQ. Getting more confidence as I go and try to do something new on every quilt. Great giveaway, thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  31. I'm a follower of your blog!

    ReplyDelete
  32. I'm a fairly new FMQ, I got a new machine, what a big difference the walking foot makes. I dont use pins or spray, just go, my Janome will even sew with out a foot petal.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I'm beyond a beginner but in no as good as I'd like to be!

    ReplyDelete
  34. I've never tried FMQ. I have yet to finish a quilt top (I'm a super newbie) so I haven't had to address the "how to quilt it" question. Hopefully soon!

    ReplyDelete
  35. I think I land somewhere in between not bad FMQ and intermediate ;-)

    Thanks for the giveaway

    ReplyDelete
  36. I love FMQ! I usually just do an all over stippling, but I have been experimenting with wavey lines using my walking foot on my home machine.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I am fairly new to all sewing and certainly a beginner at FMQ!! Thanks for a great giveaway, the fabric looks so pretty and I am intrigued about the other prize.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I've only tried FMQ once (on a wall hanging) and I found it very tiring. Given that I can't doodle with a pencil I think the chances of me being able to doodle with a sewing machine are remote!

    ReplyDelete
  39. I would call myself an advanced beginner! Thanks so much1

    ReplyDelete
  40. I am alittle afraid to spoil a quilt with my newbie skills. I need practice. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  46. My FMQ skills are pure crap. I've done one baby blanket and am nervous to doa full size one incase I mess the whole thing up. I think once I get a table for my machine it will go easier though.

Those remind me of the candy DOTS.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I'm a most definitely a beginner, and "FMQ" to me is limited to straight line or echo (fortunately, I love both of those)! :)

  86. Heh.. no idea what FMQ is. I'm a new quilter, and at this point, I'm doing everything by hand - my machine cacked out a little while ago, just as I finished my first ever quilt top. So I ended up doing the binding and the quilting by hand. I've started piecing my next quilt by hand, and can see that I'm going to have to go shopping for a new machine if I want to sleep under it some time in the next few years!

    ReplyDelete
  99. I have been a FMQ for over 20 years and still trying to get better. Flicsha@hotmail.com

    ReplyDelete
  100. My FMQ skills are almost non existent. I have done 1 quilts with stars linked together with stippling but my ability to stick to a drawn line (or star outline) leaves a lot to be desired. But you only get better with practice. Right?

    ReplyDelete
  101. Took a class in FMQ but that's about it. Mostly stitch in the ditch, wavy lines or a grid is how I quilt... and too cheap (and proud) to send out to a longarmer, lol!

    ReplyDelete
  102. I'm a total newbie at sewing and quilting, but I did just get a free motion foot for my machine so I can give FMQ a try! Thanks for the giveaway!

  110. I am just learning. Right now I am practicing on paper so my arms and hands get the memory. I have played on the machine a little but not as much as I want to. Havent had the nerve to try it on a quilt yet

    ReplyDelete

  117. Thanks for the chance! I'm a beginner at FMQ but want to get better. I have one quilt done with stippling, but the tension on the back wasn't perfect so there's more practicing in my future!

    ReplyDelete
  118. I'm still getting comfortable with FMQ. I have troubles with my hands and cannot FMQ gripping the quilt sandwich and using my machine normally. My husband got me a Flynn Multi-Frame for my birthday, and I was able to FMQ a baby quilt with spirals without hand pain. I need to work on controlling my speed so my stitches are uniform in length, but I'm enjoying it so far.

    ReplyDelete
  119. I tried it once, was not very good. Now that I want to try it agin I can't find my FMQ foot. I hope it did not get lost in the move.

  131. I am newer than new to FMQ. I have done it once on mule eared pockets that my son sewed. Civil war pants. The mule eared pockets had a loop on it. Turned out ok because really couldn't see the thread on the top. When I looked at the back it was too funny. I have practice in my future. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  132. Definitely a beginner. I can do some straightline and organic line quilting, but nothing fancy. The Pinmoors are great - never heard of them, but I have poked myself a lot using straight pins for basting :)

    ReplyDelete

  151. I have never FMQ...I didn't have a machine which had the capability. Now, even though my machine is still pretty basic, I think I can give it a try. Maybe I will start on some coasters or something small :)

  153. I'm a beginner but could never imagine hand quilting a quilt!! The first time I tried it was in an OLD blanket repair for a friend of a friend. She called the blanket "blanka" so I freemotioned that into the corner. I also recently did a baby quilt and free motioned the baby's name in 4 places on the quilt. It came out wonderfully I think and will definitely do it again!

    ReplyDelete
  154. I just found out that it means Free Motion Quilting so my level is... totally new at the topic :)
