Votes for Women - Centennial

Fight for the right for women to vote in New Zealand was the topic of this week's post at Barbara Brackman's Grandmother's Choice block of the week program.  This block is called Centennial.    I am pleased wit the way this turned out but also wondered whether I should have gone with something other than white for those triangles.  Would dramatically change the block and I'm having some second thoughts.

Here are my blocks so far.  The first 9 -

And blocks 10 through 15

These photos were taken in different light so the colors are a bit off in some of them.  I seem to be making many more RED blocks than blue so will need some more discipline to stick with blue for a bit.

Happy Stitching!

  1. Another great block! From afar, it looked like a beautiful red block sprinkled with snowflakes...guess my mind is into Christmas and winter these days! Love it!

  2. Lovely blocks... just lovely!

(I am so far behind it's not funny... *sigh*)

  3. I like the star effect :) and I'm totally with you on not using blue enough...that red is stunning and I can see why you keep using it!!

  4. I love the latest block! I like the white but you're right it would give it a dofferent feel. They all look so fabulous together!
