Read on for the giveaway associated with this post!
Today, I have the honor of guest posting at Sew We Quilt as part of a series of tutorials called Comfort and Joy!
I will be sharing a tutorial for my small zipped bag. (For those of you visiting from SWQ - welcome! Hope you'll come back and visit again.)
The bag measures at 6 by 3 1/2 and is the perfect size for carrying along just your phone and a credit card or two. Please go read my tutorial here.
I making quite a number of these for holiday gifts this year for family and friends. Here are just a few more:
I sourced my zippers and the swivel clips from two different Etsy stores. When I told Char and Jennie about my upcoming blog mention of these zipped bags, both of these wonderful ladies were excited to sponsor a giveaway to their store.
First, the swivel clips. Char from Etsy shop: Charsbeads4U is offering a bag of 20 of these swivel clips. Char was great to work with and shipped my order the same day. I've had so much fun making these bags, I'm about to order more swivel clips from her!
Second, the zippers came from the Etsy shop: ZipIt . Jennie is offering a $10 gift certificate to her store. I've order zippers several times from Jennie and packages arrive quickly.
In addition, Jennie has offered a discount code for 15% off their order for any of my readers! Use discount code: NCWEEKENDQUILTER
I will draw two winners.
The rules:
- To enter, leave a comment on this blog post.
- Go visit one or both of their Etsy shops and tell me about a product they have offered that you like. Valid entries must contain a reference to an item in one or both of their shops.
- One comment per person. You do not have to follow my blog (although I'd love it if you did so!)
- Winner will be notified through email so make sure you aren't a no reply blogger.
- The swivel clips can only be mailed to a US address so let me know if your are outside US and would therefore like to win gift certificate to Zipit.
- Giveaway closes on Thursday evening, Dec 22 at 9pm EST.
Happy Stitching!
Cute tutorial! Thanks for sharing, i will check out the sponsors on etsy! :)

ok, guess I'll be number 1. I had no idea you could get 3 inch zippers! And all those rainbows of zippers! How cool! If I were a jewelry maker I would love some of the clasps and things at chars beeds.
ReplyDeleteI love Char's - Two Tone Foil - Silver - Amethyst Glass - Blue Moon Beads. They are so pretty! I am a follower and in the USA. Thanks for a great giveaway.
ReplyDeleteDid you know that at Zipit's Etsy shop there are 112 items if you search the word "sale"? Wow! Her zipper prices are amazing. I would probably get the SALE 25 Assorted 12 Inch YKK Zippers for only $13.25!!! I need to look for some bag ideas for the end of year teacher appreciation gifts and get sewing. Better decide what size I need before ordering, but I've got Jennie's shop in my favorites.
Love the twisted satin cord, that would work so well on my cellphone purses and the assorted-kaleidoscope-zipper-pulls are very cute. Great resources and love the tutorial especially the zipper installation!
ReplyDeleteAwe, I always love to find nice stores...and not have to search for them. However, I know Char from my etsy team CAC! Yay!!!! =)
ReplyDeleteI love your zip pouches...sigh...makes me want to make some, but time with time restrictions, it's not happening.
I love the variety packs of zippers available...so you get an assortment of colors.
And the little "I love Jesus" charms are so cute too! They would make great zipper pulls!
Thanks for a chance to enter the giveaway. Merry Christmas! =)
Wow, what a human Angel to host two giveaways! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the eyeglass findings on Char's Etsy shop and the Kaleidoscope Zipper Pulls in Jennie's shop are amazing.
So many possibilities! Thank you!

I love hearing about Etsy shops that others have purchased from and recommend. I have actually purchased from ZipIt, too. My favorite thing in Jennie's shop are the long pull zippers!
ReplyDeleteAs a little aside, for others who are reading comments, Jennie will also put together a custom listing for you if the colors you want/need are not all bundled together. I think she just asks that you order a minimum of 5 zippers (of course, I've always order longer ones, so if they're shorter, you may need to ask about that minimum number for that...)
These bags look like so much fun to make!!!!Wow I looked at both shops and they are fab. The 10 Assorted Kaleidoscope zipper pulls are so cute! and all those colorful zippers! wow!!!
ReplyDeleteTo begin with, your tutorial is excellent. I am traveling at the moment, but bookmarked it and can't wait to get started!! Secondly, thank you for sharing links for the hardware. I visited both the etsy store and am just delighted with their product. Have a joyous holiday! ~karen

I did check out CharsBeads because I bought a swivel clips from Joann's and it totally broke! That just bites my butt that it's sew-in and useless! Anyway, I wanted to see her prices, but there are none listed?

ReplyDeleteI did visit both shops. The Ornate Antique Puffed Silver Heart Beads caught my eye at Charsbeads4u. At ZipIt, the Kaleidoscope Zipper Pulls were neat looking. Jennie's husband makes them. How great her husband works with her. I loved how the zippers were displayed, the rainbow colors were awesome! It's nice to find out about shops especially when they are being referred by someone.
Thanks for an awesome giveaway and a chance to win. I'm a new follower and found you via Shared Stitches. Have a great Holiday!
