Celebrate Summer and a Giveaway

I'm a guest blogger today at Sew We Quilt @ Stash Manicure.  For those that are visiting from that blog post, Welcome to A Stitch in Time.  I hope you'll choose to become a follower and join me on my quilting journey.  Check my sidebar for links to my 2011 finishes.  Scroll down to see the quilt I just made that will travel with my son as he goes off to college next month.


On my guest post, I shared a great idea for your summer visit to a theme park. Instead of buying an autograph book, collect those character autographs on fabric!  My daughter and I collected two dozen autographs during our last trip to Disney World.

I even collected an autograph from this guy.


And used that autograph to create a small quilt to hold my growing pin collection from my favorite movie Toy Story.



I found a coloring page picture of the Pizza Planet alien and turned it into an applique.  (For those fellow Toy Story fans, doesn't the cloud fabric I chose remind your of the wallpaper in Andy's room?)


To celebrate summer and my guest blog post, I am having a small giveaway of a charm pack of Hullabaloo.  Very cute fabric!  There are two chances to enter:

    Wow! Fantastic idea. We took scrapbook paper instead of an autograph book. This made scrapbooking our memories SO much fun!

    My favorite Toy Story character is Mrs. Potato Head. "Don't make me get out my Angry Eyes!" ;0)

    Ahhh Toy story...I will be certainly booed here...never seen it? I don't want many cartoons anymore now that my kids are all grown...

    Awe, what a great idea to create a lasting memory!

    I think that I really like Slinky, he's just cute. =) The most annoyingly funny are the Aliens, "You have saved our lives, we are eternally grateful!" I've enjoyed how they tied them in to the next show. =)

    I am a follower.
    My favorite character from Toy Story is Mr. Potato Head. He is a toy that I remember playing with at my Grandmother's house as a child.
    I read your post at Stash Manicure and I am excited to collect signatures at the next family reunion (in 2 weeks) to make a family tree quilt. I will have to collect 2 of each so that I can make one for our family and one to auction off at the reunion next time.

    I've always wanted to be a cowgirl, so Jessie is my favorite. Funny thing - we were just talking about Toy Story at work today. I work at a University in the Admissions Office, and a girl who went on a tour with us this week tweeted that her tour guide looked just like Ken from Toy Story 3! I went down to the lobby to take another look at our tour guide, and she's right!

    It's been awhile since I saw the movie, but I remember buying a Woody doll for one of the grands. Love the idea for the signatures. My grands have several lanyards full of pins. I even made some pouches for their wrists to carry their trading pins in.

    My favorite character in Toy Story is Jessie. The theme for my 3 year old granddaughters dance recital was Toy Story and Rylee was a sweet little Jessie on stage....absolutely priceless show....brought tears to my eyes. Thanks for the chance to win!!!
