7 Flowers

I am the oldest of 7 kids - all girls.  All of us are mothers.  To celebrate Mother's Day, I made my mom this mini-quilt.  Each of the leaves - 16 in all - represents the children each of us have had.
I had so much fun making this quilt and really just love the way that it turned out.  I fused all the applique pieces and then attached them in place with a running stitch.  I like the slightly frayed look the flowers now have.  A few lines to define the grass and a couple of clouds in the sky finished it off.
Fabric used was from Lollipop by Sandy Gervais.  Label (with 7 'happys') from Sweetwater label club.
Love you Mom!

This was the post that 'got away' when blogger had all those issues.  May be a repeat for some.

Happy Stitching!

  4. I am sure it was super frustrating to have posts disappear, but I am SO glad this did...mainly because you reposted it and it landed where I could see it! I think it is beautiful both in creativity and in the love that went into it!!
