Farmer's Wife Blocks - Daffodil (26) and Dinah (27)

27 blocks done means I've made more than 25% of the blocks!!   One fabric issue though - the green I used in this block seems to be all gone.  I thought I had more  (and I probably have enough green blocks for the quilt) but I was surprised when I had to work hard to have large enough pieces for leaves.

Daffodil (26) -  You can find orange daffodils in nature, right?  I found this block quite fun to assemble.

Dinah (27) - This block was easier than it looked

Every 9 blocks calls for a group photo.   Here are blocks 19 through 27 - (Carolina, Caroline, Carrie, Cat, Charlotte, Coral, Crystal, Daffodil and Dinah)

Here are blocks 10 through 18 - (Ava, Bea, Becky, Belle, Betty, Blossom, Bonnie, Bride, and Carol)

Here are blocks 1-9 - (Addie, Aimee, Alice, Ann, Anne, April, Augusta, Aunt, and Autumn)

Interested in playing along?  These are from the book -   Farmer's Wife 1930's Sampler Quilt and there are two great quilt alongs with plenty of tips and ideas.  VeryKerryBerry  is doing the blocks in numerical order while Gnome Angel is doing them in order from easiest to hardest.

My fabrics are from Moda Fig Tree.  There are so many different versions underway right now - so much inspiration out there!

Happy Stitching!

  2. Your group photos are a nice glimpse to what your quilt will look like! I've put of making Dinah because i thought she would be a nightmare to piece. I made Golda yesterday and ended up accidentally switching up two of the fabrics, so its a bit of a mess. I don't want to redo it, but I probably should. Have a great weekend, Patty.
