Snapshots - Gone Surfing

Sometimes I have the most trouble with the simplest blocks!  The pattern called for putting a heart on the door of the car but I decided to just go with a plain door.  Although I cut everything correctly, I kept getting pieces mixed up and had to unsew and resew! (twice).  But it all came together at the end!

When I was a kid, my dad drove a red VW so I red was an easy choice for this block.  I don't think he ever actually owned a surfboard but I thought it looked cute on the car.

You can download this pattern here from the Fat Quarter Shop blog.

I've already assembled my other 9 blocks into the quilt top.  Loving it!

you can find more information on the Fat Quarter Shop page.  Besides the fun of building the quilt, this is all about donating to St Jude.

3 more blocks to go.  Can't wait!

Happy Stitching!

  2. I had some troubles with this one too. My wheels weren't lining up so I had to do a lot of unstitching and turning things around. Got it done though. Whew!
