Farmer's Wife: Blossom (15) and Bonnie (16)

I'm enjoying the pace of two blocks each week.  Not sure why I used orange in both of this weeks blocks though!

(15) Blossom was a lot of work but not too difficult.

Picking colors is generally difficult but for this one, I went with the inspiration outside my window.

(16) Bonnie.  Very easy.  Just traditionally pieced this one.

Interested in playing along?  These are from the book -   Farmer's Wife 1930's Sampler Quilt  and there are two great quilt alongs with plenty of tips and ideas.  VeryKerryBerry  is doing the blocks in numerical order while Gnome Angel is doing them in order from easiest to hardest.

Fabrics are from Moda Fig Tree.

Happy Stitching!

  2. Your blocks are gorgeous!! I made my Blossom last night! How are you finding these blocks in comparison to the last Farmers Wife?? When I've been stuck for picking my fabric for the blocks, I turn to the letter and look for inspiration there. I made my Blossom with red and blue because of the letter and then I picked red and black for Augusta from her letter, too. Sometimes we need just a little push, heh?? Have a great weekend.
