Elmer

Remember this book?

I wanted for make my own version of Elmer for my Elephant Parade quilt.  Instead of basic patchwork, I did a crazy quilt version using tiny solid scraps.

What do you think?

I made 3 other elephants as well and now have the beginnings of a herd!

New this week were these birds - were just so fun and so cute to put together!

Here is what my parade looks like so far!  Didn't realize that the sun was making this picture not the best ... but I'm not complaining that the sun was out!

Flowers are this weeks blocks and then I have to decide how many more elephants to make.

Sew Fresh Quilts has designed this wonderful Elephant Parade quilt.  Come join the fun.  I'll be linking up here at Sew Fresh Quilts.

Happy Stitching!

  4. I love your Elmer! What a great idea! I have my big elephants made plus the frog, and I got them all done on one day. Then I came to a screeching halt and have been sick for the past week, so I have a herd of baby elephants, the turtle, birds, and flowers to get to. Do you know what you are going to use to back your Elephant Parade quilt?

  6. OMG! I used to use that book to teach area - we would cover the elephant with squares after guessing how many square inches he was! And as soon as I saw him, before I knew you were referencing the book, I thought of it! Fun!
