Spring! (the quilt, not the season)

I just had to take a snow picture!  This was the Friday after all the snow fell the previous Wednesday.

This was a gift for a very special Aunt.  I mailed it to her and obsessively tracked the package until it arrived on her doorstep.  She loves it and is making my uncle paint the walls of one of the rooms to map one of the colors in the quilt.  (My uncle is not so happy.)   My Aunt gives a lot to others.  She knits and sew garments but has never quilted.  Turns out no one has ever given her a gift like this before so she was thrilled.  Giving a quilt to someone who really appreciates it is the best.

A close up prior to binding - I just love the overall fan quilting.   Cathy Kirk is my LAQ - she did a wonderful job.   This fabric is Moda Flats.  I used one of the prints from the line as the backing fabric.

The binding for this quilt and one other was my February goal (post here) for Another Lovely Year of Finishes.   (No photos of the other yet - it is a gift for someone who reads my blog.)

I'll be linking up here!

Happy Stitching!
