I finished my row of baskets.
And assembled my quilt top.
I really like the way that it turned out. I hung up the quilt flimsy to get a photo.
Border or no border?
If I went with a border, it would be a strip (scrappy) about 1 inch to an inch and then another 2 inches of the white.
Right now it measures 36" by 48" which is just fine for a wall hanging.
Adding a border could add 6" to each dimension - 42" by 54" - and suddenly I would have a lap quilt.
What would you do? Wall hanging or lap quilt?

I like a border on a quilt, having said that I am getting ready to bind a quilt with no border.
ReplyDeleteI did make a small quilt just using the baskets and tulip blocks from the row along, it was perfect for a present. I like it so much that I intend to make one for myself using a few more of the blocks.
I would add the border and make a lap quilt.
ReplyDeleteA scrappy green border made all the difference with mine. Truly. The top, bottom and sides were different. Mine was a scrappy quilt top. So I agree with Gene. Or would look nice hanging it on the wall above the bed in a child's room.
