FNSI results

Enjoyed another fun FNSI.   Much of the time was spent attaching the binding to my queen size quilt made from Sweetwater Pure.  My LAQ lady (Cathy Kirk) serges the edges for me and I find that this makes attaching the binding so much easier.  Everything is neatly held together.   Glass of wine at my side, I got about 1/2 done.

I also did some FMQ including this month's Free Motion Quilting Challenge from SewCalGalPaula Reid was the guest teacher for September.

This is roughly 8" square and I am going to trim and bind and use it as a small mug rug.  I was pleased with how I did even tracing back over the design in order to get to the next place.  The center looks a little wonky - perhaps an optical illusion from my photo??

I have really been enjoying this year long FMQ challenge and thank Darleene for bringing to us such wonderful guests!

Make sure to visit the FNSII line-up to see what others accomplished last night!  Thanks Heidi and Bobbi!

Have a great weekend.

Happy Stitching!

  1. You certainly got a lot done last night! Half the binding done? You are soooo close to finishing... and just in time for the cooler weather too!

I love your FMQing... good on you for sticking with the challenge!

  2. You know I have never heard of anyone serging around the quilt, I would have problems keeping it stright. I wish I had jumped on the FMQ challenge when it started. I am still new at it.

  3. Your FMQ looks great! I am still only doing wavy or straight lines. You got a long way with the binding.. I love that fabric line.. can't wait to see the finished pic. :) I am a new follower. Nice to *meet* you. Hopped over from the FNSI links. :)

  4. Awesome FNSI results. I am so far behind on the SCG FMQing I should just give up thinking about it. Life got in the way. You're doing great though! :)
