Introducing Sunny Days of Summer

I finally finished adding my border to my latest quilt made from a Moda Sweetwater Sunkissed layer cake.
I am really happy with my modified piano key border.  I couldn't support a full piano key as a result of having only the smallest of pieces left after piecing the stars.  Each piece of the layer cake was cut very carefully to make this work.
Some of the squares had a fussy cut center in order to be able to maintain the fabric with words.
I will have this one quilted by my long armer later this month.  It certainly will feel like summer with this quilt draped over the couch!
Thanks for the nice congratulations comments for my 1/2 marathon finish.  I appreciate it.

Happy Stitching!

  2. that looks really great! what pattern did you use? or did your talented self just wing it? Have a great week - Laurie

  3. It's gorgeous! The colours really are so summer-like and I love the border
