I had a lot of fun finishing this quilt. To quilt, I stitched in the ditch around each block and then did FMQ inside the block. I think I'll also do FMQ (stipple) in the lattice strips as well.
These blocks were finished all the way back in January 2014. They were from April Mae Design's Hello Moon quilt along and blogged about them here.
I had this piece of flannel (Kate Spain Fandango) in my stash that is perfect for the backing. I still have to put on the binding - I'm going with the red from the stashing - but need to order some more of Bella Scarlet fabric.
This ever happen to you? You've managed to keep wrinkles and puckers out of the backing but a little piece of fabric comes along for the ride! Should be easy to remove.

Assembling this quilt top was my June goal (post) and I'll be linking up at Another Lovely Year of Finishes . Another set of blocks turned into a quilt!
I'll also be linking up here.
Happy Stitching!
Congrats! The red borders set the blocks off perfectly.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed the Hello Moon QAL, one of the few BOM's I managed to finish last year!
I have not even picked up my goal finish for June however..
I love how this creates the story and yet is so clever and adorable on it's own. The red really sparks it! Nice fun quilt.
ReplyDeleteAdorable quilt! Yes, I've had that happen! In fact just the other day it happened to me and I forgot all about it until I read your post. I thought I was all done with that quilt except the binding, but I do need to take that little piece of fabric out. Thanks for reminding me :-)
ReplyDeleteIt turned out great! I have all the blocks done for this one, but haven't put them together yet. Maybe later this year! Congratulations on the finish!
ReplyDeleteI just love this quilt. It turned out beautifully! Any little one would love it. Congrats on your finish.
