Fall - my entry in the Leafs me happy blog hop




Another fun blog hop - this could be my favorite blog hop entry yet!

 Introducing Fall - my mini made from my 10 1/2 inch block.

This block is my own design.  I drew the tree trunk freehand and then fussy cut each and every leaf out of fabric.

Each leaf was outlined in coordinating thread.  I then did a bunch of swirls on the background fabric to suggest gusts of winds blowing the leaves down and the path a spinning leaf would take.  For the 2 inch border, I did a freehand FMQ attempt at leaves - some are more realistic than others!

I auditioned several leaf placements before creating the final placement.

This is proudly hanging on the wall in my kitchen.
